What is happening in March 2014 at BAH

THE FOCUS FOR THE MONTH:

Brockville Animal Hospital is focusing on ticks for the month of March. Did you know that dogs are 50 – 100 times more likely to come in contact with ticks than humans are? We can test for tick-borne diseases here at Brockville Animal Hospital. In 2013 there were 88 dogs that tested positive for Lyme disease at our hospital. Brockville and the Thousand Islands Region are in high risk areas. Your best protection is by doing 3 things: 1. Examine your pet after being outside, 2. Use a veterinarian-approved tick product and 3. Have your dog vaccinated against Lyme disease. By doing these 3 things you are providing your pet with the best protection against acquiring a tick-borne disease.
