Yesterday, we said goodbye to our sweetest, handsomest and gentlest boy, Max. His decline was fast, and we remind ourselves that we did what we had to do to stop his suffering.
We will always remember your loud but affectionate welcoming when we walked through the door. We will always remember how playful you were, and how much you loved to walk, swim and go on adventures. You took such good care of your little brother Puff; we saw how much you loved him dearly.
As we mourn you, we look back at all the little things that made you, you. Like how much of a cuddle bug you were, always in “your spot” on the couch. How you’d get into a fit of zoomies, rubbing either sides of your head on a rug until your whole body followed and you began the bacon dance, getting all the scratches in. How you’d give your paw whenever we asked for it. You were so smart and could read a person’s emotions. You would comfort us on our bad days, and cheer with us on our good days.
We will cherish you forever, little Max. It hurts that you had to go, but it was necessary.
Love, cuddles and raspberry kisses,
Daddy, Momma & Puff 🐾
